This article is a transcript of an interview of Rais Safiullin, a Russian software developer a
nd creator of the new game Cyto-life. Cyto-life is a free flash game that follows the adventure of a microbe as it evolves from a solitary plant eater to the top of the microbial food chain.

1) What gave you the idea for Cyto-Life?
Actually, a long time ago, when there were announcements about Will Wright's Spore, I got interested in the idea of the 1st stage. When the game came out I didn't see what I wanted to see in it. What I really wanted was a variety of enemies and for each enemy to be unique. So I decided to start creating Cyto-Life using my flash skills. This was my first experience in game development so I faced lots of problems and decided to leave the 'unique enemies' feature for the sequel - Cyto-Life 2.

2) What other games have you created in addition to Cyto-Life?
I probably shouldn't answer this one, because of the age and low quality of the game. But, as I'm doing an interview... =) - it's Plotvo-Mania, a fishing simulator.

3) What made you interested in flash game development?
I wanted to experiment with game development and even earn some money :D

4) Can you tell us about any new games you are working on?
At the moment there are only some ideas of several original games. My long-term plans, as I've already said, are the development of Cyto-Life 2.

5) Do you like playing flash games or just creating them? Why?
I like playing games a lot. I often visit flash portals to rest while playing. I like Flash for its simplicity, easiness and nice vector graphics.

6) Why did you get into computer programming in general?
I don't know, computer programming is my whole life. I like math and logics.

7) What is your favorite thing about computer programming?
In game development I enjoy writing the code, creating the algorithms and AI, it's more interesting for me than graphics and design creation.
